Privacy
Last updated October 1, 2026. This page says what Pin My Parks stores, and who else handles it.
What we store
An account has an email address, a password stored only as a hash, and a display name. A handle is optional.
A stay has the campground, the dates, a rating from 1 to 5, a comment if you write one, and a site label if you add one. The site label stays off a public page unless you later choose to show it. Photos are not collected yet.
We do not ask for a home address, a precise location, a contacts list, or a date of birth.
Private and public
A private stay is visible to you. The campground page the public receives does not include it. A public stay, when public reviews are open, can show your display name, the month and year, the rating, the comment, and the site label only if you chose to show it. It does not show your email or the exact dates.
We do not sell personal information. There are no advertising pixels and no third-party analytics scripts.
We do not use private stays to train a model.
Who else handles it
These are the services that process information for the site:
- This server, operated by Michael Michaelsen, for the site, the database, and photo files when uploads exist.
- Cloudflare, for the domain name service and for caching public pages.
- Resend, for account email such as a password reset. That mail is not a newsletter.
- Stripe, for card payments if a paid plan is offered. Card numbers are not stored on this server. Billing is not on.
- Backblaze, for an offsite copy of the encrypted database and photo backups.
Children
The site is not directed at children. An account holder must be at least 16. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 13, we close it and delete what that account posted.
The operator
The name and mailing address used for copyright notices are published on the copyright notice page, because that page has to name a real person. That address is the operator's, not something we collect from campers.
