What to include

A notice should include:

• Your signature, typed or handwritten.
• The work you say was copied.
• The address of the stay on this site.
• A way to reach you.
• A statement that you believe the use is not authorized.
• A statement that the notice is accurate, and that you are the owner or allowed to act for the owner.

What happens next

We take the named stay off public view while we look at the notice. We forward the notice to the email on that account. The person who posted it can send a counter-notice. If the law's conditions are met, we wait 10 to 14 business days. We put the stay back if the person who complained does not file a lawsuit in that time.

Three valid takedowns close the account.

A complaint that a public post reveals someone else's private information, and that is not a copyright claim, can use the same contact. We can unpublish that stay.
